The Gampr Project is leading a national initiative to scientifically DNA test, document, and preserve the true working Armenian Gampr. Through field evaluation and genetic analysis, qualified dogs are DNA tested and recorded in a permanent conservation database of verified working Gamprs across Armenia’s rural regions. This work safeguards the genetic integrity of the Gampr as a landrace guardian and secures its future in the villages and mountains where it has served for generations.
